- Description
- Solicitation SB1341-76-RQ-0396 Mid-Infrared Dynamic Mode Mixer Amendment 001: The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions: Question 1: Is a lot of 3 different instruments, each in their own rack mount enclosure? Answer 1: Yes, 3 instruments each in their own rack mount enclosure. Question 2: Pertaining to Spec 2, Measurement Noise introduced from laser speckle shall be reduced a factor of 5 or better on frequency scales up to 1 kHz. What is the RMS noise of the laser used, before scrambling? What is the laser coherence length? Answer 2: We may use different lasers - but all cw, with narrow linewidths and reasonably long coherence lengths. We are interested in reducing noise arising from speckle, not other sources of laser power instability. It is the noise component we are trying to reduce with this product and our testing will look at this component as well. Question 3: Pertaining to Section Inspection and Acceptance 1. "A visual inspection of the laser system will be performed by the NIST TPOC to identify surface defects or any form of indication that the mode mixer was damaged during transport to NIST", this instrument, does not include a laser system, does this mean a laser system will be provided by NIST for our in-house qualifications? 2. "Ownership (title) of the Tunable Narrow-band Short-wave Infrared Laser shall transfer to NIST upon acceptance." Are lasers included? Answer 3: No, this section was incorrect. The Inspection and Acceptance section is hereby revised as follows: To: "A visual inspection of the Mid-Infrared Dynamic Mode Mixer will be performed by the NIST TPOC to identify surface defects or any form of indication that the Mode Mixer was damaged during transport to NIST." To: "Ownership (title) of the Mid-Infrared Dynamic Mode Mixer shall transfer to NIST upon acceptance." All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
