Description
ANNOUNCEMENT: SAVAHCS INDUSTRY WEEK 7/17-21/2017 The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) will be constructing a new addition and renovating existing clinical space with a new Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of design. To that end and to facilitate our staff getting mentally and physically adjusted to this new concept before walking into their new space, SAVAHCS would like to do an Industry Week. This Industry Week would bring the latest/greatest that manufacturers and vendors would like to demonstrate to SAVAHCS as potential solutions to our needs. Our event is targeted to be displayed in Tucson, at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, located at 3601 S. 6th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85723, on July 17 21, 2017. The main difference in the PACT model is that the patient moves into an exam room and is then seen there by any and all providers, nursing staff, ancillary staff and support staff. There are two entries into this exam room, one from a public corridor and one from a staff area where all staff resides when not seeing patients and where they do a lot of work. Some of the space in this staff area is known as a Teamlet area. A Teamlet consists of 1 provider, 1 Rn, 1 LPN and 1 Staff Support position. This Teamlet area, though collaborative in nature, presents altogether different concerns/problems and way of working. The Teamlet concept presents a huge paradigm shift for our providers. They will be working side-by- side and within small collaborative groups to deal with the care of their patients. These teams will be next to other such teams doing the same type work. No walls, no visual privacy, only desk units to demark their work area and staff coming and going throughout their spaces on a continual basis. No acoustical privacy with phones, conversations, treatment dialogues, etc. continually being experienced throughout the day. And in order to accommodate the teams with the addition of staff, desks may need to be smaller and personalization minimal at best. Every furniture vendor could have several options to maximize the space that is there for the providers. We do wish for flexibility and would entertain each station having a sit -to-stand solution. We would also like to see some demarcation of these individual spaces and these Teamlet groups, with potential panels, dividers, as well as provide desking efficiencies; yet keeping the collaboration component. Also, gaining any sound attenuation with product or accessories would be very beneficial for this new program model. Attached are conceptual drawings of the new PACT Teamlet model. We would like to see vendors present up to two physical examples of their potential solutions (24 x 48 ), built back to back, and on display for several days so that our SAVAHCS staff have some time to explore and examine these solutions. Please see attachment for vendor display areas. Vendors would be asked to bring their sample solutions in and install them it on a Monday and tear down the following Friday. These will be staged in our Auditorium and/or Conference Center for the staff to come in and look at the various products. We are requesting that NONE of the vendor representatives be here during the demonstration period; and we strongly insist that they not be present, as actual product solution will be done via a design and put out to bid. Vendors may supply informational brochures or other type product material. Staff will be given an evaluation form to fill out and returned to the Interior Design section who will work with this staff feedback to develop the design. Please see Vendor Areas for set ups. There will also be a second component to our Industry Week in regards to our exam room setup. Since this new exam room would have two doors to contend with and limited space, the exam rooms must go with a small wall-mounted unit to host the phone and computer instead of a desk and provide some surface space in which to interact across from the patient or utilize at the wall. Vendors could have several solutions to this concept and at this point we would entertain up to two solutions per vendor, which must be displayed on a stabilized panel or wall section provided by the vendor. Set ups will take place in the Auditorium and Conference Center A, both located in Bldg. 4, along Marine Corps Trail, on Monday, July 17th starting at 9am. Vendors can drop off their product and tools at that area, but then must park elsewhere on campus: suggest RV parking or Lots M or O and take the Tram back. Tear downs will be Friday, July 21st, from 9am to 3pm. Please see vendor set up floor plans, with Vendor 2 spot showing how vendors should show their solutions.
