- DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS GREAT LAKES ACQUISITION CENTER NETWORK CONTRACTING OFFICE 12 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION / SOURCES SOUGHT INQUIRY The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 12, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) is seeking information and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources that are capable of providing tanks of compressed nitrogen and oxygen gas that provide medical grade nitrogen and oxygen including the following incidental services for the William S. Middleton VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin: Installing plumbing and electrical infrastructure to support the gas supply system installation Installation of air compressor, air purifying/dehumidifying equipment, nitrogen generator, oxygen generator and accessory equipment Installation of air, nitrogen and oxygen manifolds Connection and start-up of the equipment. The following is a list of specific tasks that would be required of potential contractor(s) from whom the VA is seeking capability statements from: 5.1 Task 1 Infrastructure Installation 5.1.1 Subtask 1: Planning: Provide VA Engineering with equipment cut-sheets, detailed schematics of the proposed system installation (including plumbing and electrical connections between the components and to the building infrastructure), and a description of electrical support items that the contractor requires VA Engineering to install (electrical outlets, 208V circuit breaker, e.t.c.) as part of Government Furnished Equipment. Deliverables: Schematics and Cut-Sheets Proposed plans for component interconnections List of electrical infrastructure required ahead of time. 5.1.1 Subtask 2: Installation of Plumbing: Install gas pressure manifolds (one each for dehumidified/purified air, nitrogen and oxygen) capable of 40 psi output. Run copper pipe connections in the manner and quantity required to supply air, nitrogen and oxygen to the manifolds. 5.2 Task 2. Deliver system components to location and unload them inside the room. Deliverables: System Components undamaged, new and in good working order. 5.3 Task 3. System installation of air compressor, air purifier/dehumidifier, nitrogen generator, oxygen generator, gas storage tanks, wall mounted gas manifolds and nitrogen/oxygen alarms. Connection of all components, test for continuity of gas and electrical connections, and for absence of gas leaks. 5.4 Task 4. System start-up, testing and user training The equipment referenced in this document are part of a custom designed high purity (often referred to as medical grade) air and/or nitrogen and/or oxygen production system. This system is designed specifically for use in animal research. Aside from air purity, vibration and audible feedback are also very important considerations while designing such a system. Equipment configurations also attempt to minimize maintenance intervals and long term costs. The information submitted shall contain the company's business size status, and entity status as a SDVOSB/VOSB. This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation. This is not a request for proposal (RFP) or a Request for Quote (RFQ). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice. Requests for copies of a solicitation shall not be honored or acknowledged.
