- Capability Statement for RFQ NNX1761953Q SPECS: The vendor shall deliver a single modified X6T Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Module meeting the specifications below: The vendor shall use the Saft VL41MFe Super Phosphate LiFePO4 cell chemistry with a nominal 41 ampere-hour capacity and uniformly match all 16 cells from the same manufacturing lot into a 2P8S configuration for use in the military-grade 6T package and meet or exceed the UN 38.3 transportation specification. The nominal capacity of the modified X6T module shall be a minimum of 82 ampere-hours. The battery module shall be maintenance free. The modified X6T battery module shall utilize an internal battery management system featuring a built-in self-balancing for individual cells and an automated self-shutdown under unsafe conditions. The vendor shall modify and upgrade the battery management software to ensure safe operations with the higher capacity VL41MFe Super Phosphate LiFePO4 cell chemistry. The vendor shall validate all operational non-operational conditions to verify safety limits are maintained. The battery management software shall communicate over the J1939 CAN Bus protocol. The modified X6T battery module shall be compatible with the MIL-STD- 1275E power bus. The modified X6T battery module voltage at 100% state-of charge shall be: approximately 30.0 VDC. The modified X6T battery module voltage at 0% state-of-charge shall be: approximately 20.0 VDC. The maximum allowable modified X6T battery module mass is 25 kg. The maximum dimensions of the of the modified battery module are: Height: 230 mm Width: 256 mm Length: 269 mm The vendor shall deliver the completed modified X6T battery module to NASA Glenn Research Center within 6 months after receipt of order. The vendor shall supply all battery cell matching and performance data and documentation along with the modified X6T battery module performance characterization and safety certification on the revised battery management software.
