Description
Naval Air Warfare Command Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) Orlando has a requirement to purchase Rustici Software Licenses for the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) in support of the P-8A Training Courseware. The P-8A Program is an International Cooperative Program between the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and the Australian Department of Defense (ADoD), Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). As such, aircraft and training devices have been procured in support of the ADoD s transition to the P-8A platform. The United States Navy (USN) and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) are in the process of replacing the Maritime and Reconnaissance P-3C Orion aircraft (P-3C) with the Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft P-8A Poseidon (P-8A). In order to meet both fleets training requirements for the transition of the P-3, the USN and the RAAF have procured, under a separate contract action, P-8A Aircrew and Maintenance Training Devices. To ensure the RAAF training courseware in support of these devices maintains the same configuration as the USN training courseware, there is an immediate need to procure Rustici Software Licenses for the continued operation of the Learning Management System (LMS). The P-8A Training Systems utilizes the SHARP (Sierra Hotel Alpha Romeo Papa) LMS provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to the P-8A s Prime Contractor, The Boeing Company (Boeing), for maintenance of courseware. SHARP uses as its engine tool a SCORM system under the name RUSTICI for the USN. This product is commonly used at both an enterprise use level as well as part of commercial software baseline tools. The use on the RAAF program will be under the enterprise licensing. The timely acquisition of the SCORM tool is essential to ensure initial training implementation and sustained RAAF operability.
