- This is a sources sought notice only. This notice does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Market Research is being conducted to Service Disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business or Hub zone interests. The Salisbury North Carolina Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is trying to determine whether to set aside the acquisition to provide cleaning & disinfection of cooling water system. The scope of work is as follows but not limited to: Step 1: Pre-Clean Disinfection for the reduction of biological contaminants The system will be disinfected using an oxidizing biocide such as chlorine or an equivalent. A dispersant shall be added to aid in removing any organic deposits. Step 2: Mechanical cleaning for removal of contaminants Each cell and sump will be isolated and drained for mechanical cleaning. Each cell will be pressure washed as reasonably accessible to help remove deposits. Special care should be taken not to damage the fill pack. Deposits including in the sump shall be removed for disposal. Step 3: Post-Clean Disinfection for the reduction of biological contaiminants Disinfect system using an oxidizing biocide such as chlorine or an equivalent chemistry Following start-up procedures for the cooling water systems, resume standard water treatment program (including biocide treatment The system blowdown shall remain open to remove biofilms and release other solids that might be suspended in the system for a minimum of 24 hours. All equipment shall be returned to normal operation by VA personnel after the blow down period. Step 4: Documentation and Certification The vendor must document cleaning and disinfection service with photos and a certificate for record of due diligence with the next service report. EQUIPMENT LIST: The vendor will provide all chemicals, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the cleaning and disinfection of the cooling towers located at chiller plant.
