- UPDATE 4/7/17 TO THE Autonomous Networking Technology Review Days 2017 - Electromagnetic Spectrum Superiority in Support of Multi-Domain Operations Conference Solicitation Number: RRS 2017 Autonomous Networking Technology Review Conference The Erie Canal Chapter (NY) of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is proud to announce the Autonomous Networking Technology Symposium to be held on June 13-14, 2017 in Utica, New York at the Radisson Hotel. Autonomous networking, contingent upon electromagnetic spectrum superiority, opens the door to a wide range of new machine-to-machine (M2M) and manned/unmanned teaming (MUM-T) capabilities. Resiliency of these capabilities depends upon spectrum maneuverability, rapidly deployable connectivity, adaptable information services, and timely situational awareness. This symposium will focus on current state-of-the-art technology developments and emerging joint/coalition needs in support of Multi-Domain Operations. The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) is participating along with invited stakeholders from: -- The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) -- The Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA) -- National Spectrum Consortium (NSC) -- The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) -- Air Combat Command (ACC) -- Air Mobility Command (AMC) -- Global Strike Command (AFGSC) -- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) -- Office of Naval Research (ONR) -- Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) -- The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) -- The Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) -- Other relevant consortia Keynote Speakers (confirmed) -- Major General Dwyer L. Dennis, Program Executive Officer for C3I and Networks, Hanscom Air Force Base, MA -- Dr. Paul D. Nielsen, Director and Chief Executive Officer, Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (Major General, USAF, Ret) The symposium provides a forum for industry and academia to discuss with government representatives the technologies required for formulation, development and deployment of autonomous network(s) as well as how the aerial layer can be exploited as a force multiplier via autonomy-enabled concepts of employment/operations such as multi-domain command and control. Participants will have the opportunity to engage government leaders, scientists, and engineers on approaches to exploit M2M/MUM-T applications, review technology demonstrations and discuss various experiments and best practices. Some of the topic areas include but are not limited to: -- Spectrum agility -- Cyber security & trust -- Heterogeneous networking with unmanned vehicles (aerial, surface, underwater) -- Symbiotic spectrum & network C2 at operational tempo -- Implications of autonomy in Multi-Domain Operations Registration and more information can be found at: http://www.afceaeriecanal.com/AutonomousNetworkingTechnologyDays_ANNOUCEMENT_2017.html The AFCEA Erie Canal Chapter is hosting a Networking Mixer and poster session on the evening of Tuesday June 13. This mixer will give attendees an additional opportunity to facilitate discussions in a relaxed environment. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks are included in the registration fee. A cash bar will also be available. The AFCEA Erie Canal Chapter is offering organizations the opportunity to sponsor several catered (breakfast, lunch, snack break) events throughout the conference. To sponsor an event go to: http://www.afceaeriecanal.com/AutonomousNetworkingReviewDays_2017_SPONSOR.html for additional details and application instructions. Attendees must be US Citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens. Proof of status is required for registration. Clearances are not required and all discussions will be unclassified, public domain. Registration Fees: -- Early Bird (received by 25 May): $425.00 -- May 26 to June 6: $525.00 -- At the door: $625.00 Registration fee includes : conference attendance, handouts, continental breakfasts, lunches, morning & afternoon refreshments, networking mixer with heavy hors d'oeuvres, and free parking for both days. Cancellation Requests received by June 6, 2017 are entitled to a full refund less $50.00 processing fee. After June 6, no refunds can be made. Note : This event is NOT a "bidder's conference" and this announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind. The government will NOT assume liability for costs incurred by an offeror for travel expenses, presentations, marketing efforts or data offered for examination; therefore the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the government.
