Description
The Government requires a patient departure alert system for Veteran beneficiaries in support of the Miami VA Healthcare System, Engineering services. The new monitoring patient departure alert system to replace existing (Wander Guard) system that is in poor working condition. The departure alert monitoring system to which prevents the elopement of Community Living Center (CLC) residents who are confused or suffer from dementia in the Miami VA Healthcare System (MVAHCS). Description/Scope/Objective. The Contractor, will provide and install a patient departure alert monitoring system on CLC1, 2 and 3 with touch pad that interfaces with a lock down system and touch pad that shunts and turn off alarm, and installation of lock down devices (maglocks) door operators to prevent elopement of CLC residents. The system will include triggering devices assigned to elopement risk residents. The triggering device may be wristband, bracelets or some other device that will be evaluated by the Government. The contractor will need to visit the site where equipment is to be installed, assess area, validate equipment that will function within the environment to determine best possible solution. The contractor will demo old Wander Guard, equipment on doors and older patient departure alert monitoring system and return them to engineering and any openings will need to be capped or blanked off. The Contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, material, supervision, training and other items and services necessary to perform the work as defined in this Performance Work Statement. The patient departure alert system will have programmable features that will allow staff to alter the coverage as dictated by the facility s needs.
