Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Scope: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking information from interested parties about potential sources for development of a lander propulsion system. Specifically, NASA MSFC is looking for companies with the capabilities to: Provide a MON 25/MMH based propulsion system with the following characteristics: • Must have 5 main thrusters with a minimum of 100lb-f and 8-12 attitude control thrusters with a minimum of 5lb-f • 100lb-f main thrusters and the 5lb-f attitude control thrusters must be qualified at vacuum to the following requirements: o Must operate at temperatures at or below -20° F o Must operate at inlet pressures at or below 200 psi o Continuous burn time of 1200 seconds o Isp of 300 seconds ± 10 seconds o The thrusters must be able operate in pulse mode, with a pulse width of 40 ms, followed by a 40-ms off-period o 10K cycles thruster valve, minimum Additionally, the potential source must be capable of performing the following: • Performing systems testing of the integrated propulsion system • System must be designed, built, integrated into a vehicle, and loaded onto a U.S. based commercial launch vehicle by July 2019 • Supervising the propellant loading of the vehicle For purposes of this search the respondents can assume that the location for the system installation will be at the responders choosing and the launch will take place from Kennedy Space Center. The anticipated NAICS code for this requirement is 336415 Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Propulsion Unit and Propulsion Unit Parts Manufacturing. Statement of Capabilities: NASA MSFC is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, regardless of business size or status, for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition for this requirement. Interested parties that have the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit a response to this request for information. Response Instructions: The response to this request for information will be in the form of a PDF document, limited to 10 (ten) pages and contain the following information: 1. Name of submitter and contact information, phone number, email address and address of firm 2. Identification of business size under NAICS 336415 3. CAGE code/DUNs number 5. Number of years in business and list of customers for the past five years 6. Statement of capabilities and qualifications that address the respondent's ability to provide support to which meets those requirements specified above 7. Discussion of experience relevant to the requirements above Responses to this request for information should be submitted via email to Sadie M.
