Description
SLAC RFP NO. 272662 RFP 272662 Clarfication Response Documents Drawings SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. The Linac Coherent Light Source II (LCLS-II) project at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) is a free electron laser source based on the successfully operating Linac Coherent Light Source at SLAC. The LCLS-II Accelerator System contains a 4 GeV continuous-wave (CW) superconducting linear accelerator in the first kilometer of the SLAC linear accelerator tunnel. Fast wire scanners provide the standard measurement for beam sizes along the accelerator for beam rates up to the full beam rate. Optical Transition Radiation (OTR) and YAG screens will complement the wire scanner measurements where full 2D images of the beam are necessary or desired (mainly for time resolved size measurements facilitated by a nearby deflecting cavity) and at locations where either a reduced beam rate of less than 120 Hz is available or in the full rate beam line requiring low rate operation of the SC linac. The scope of work is to manufacture, clean, assemble, leak test and RGA test as appropriate per the Statement of Work. See attachments for further information.
