COMBINED NOTICE Subject: K- UFA CABLES Synopsis Date: March 31, 2017 Contracting Office Address: N00189 NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk Philadelphia Office 700 Robbins Avenue, Building 2B Philadelphia, PA NAICS Code: 334419 Classification Code: K- UFA CABLES Solicitation Number: N00189-17-Q-Z142 Response Date: Jan 27, 2017 Archive Date: April 04, 2017 Contact Points: Louis Rosser E-mail louis.rosser@navy.mil Description: The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Philadelphia Office intends to award a contract to Micro-Coax from Pottstown PA, for UFA CABLES for the United States Naval Observatory on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed IAW FAR Parts 12 and 13. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334419. STATEMENT OF WORK UFA CABLES United States Naval Observatory USNO ™s Time Sensitive Mission is providing the best possible Master Clock to fulfill mission requirements of GPS and other programs at the nanosecond and sub nanosecond level. Times Services must maintain these systems and do so using the most stable and lowest noise hardware. This order is to procure extremely high performance replacement cables that will deliver clocks signal constantly over time and temperature. Microcoax is the only vendor able to produce the type of cable needed for stability, flexibility, suitability and durability under the temperatures and stress required. Review of various cables from numerous vendors were tested to determine if the form, fit and function were compatible with the current system. The test determined that all other tested vendors cables produce high heat temperatures and some twisting stress, only the Micro Coax cables produced a very phase stable cables that was also flexible and suitable for the environment operated in and meet the demanding requirements of the Master Clock. The proposed firm fixed price contract action is for UFA Cables. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all information received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
