Cell membrane activities and action potentials are collected and analyzed by a PC computer for neuronal activity, synaptic connections and regulations by physical, molecular and chemical manipulations. Multielectrode recording for up to 60 locations simultaneously in brain spaces. Field membrane potential and evoked spikes are collected and analyzed by a PC computer for neuronal connections, neural pathways, synaptic transmission/plasticity and neural network repair in different animal models. Special designed electrodes for in vitro, ex vitro, and animal brains of rats and mice. The system must include a wireless 2100 data acquisition system, which is complete with receiver, USB interface board, and software package. The system must be able to be connected to a computer or laptop via USB 2.0 High Speed and be controlled from MC_Rack or custom programs. It must be compatible with all W2100-headstages. The Headstage has an additional circuit board for wireless optogenetic stimulation via LED or electrical stimulation. This gives the researcher the ability to apply the cell type specific stimulation method of optogenetics to study neural circuit and specific regulation of particular neuron populations. Must have pre- and filter amplifier with integrated data acquisition and analog-digital converter - Gain and bandwidth adjustable via software - Direct access to each electrode for stimulation via internal stimulus generator. - Control of stimulator via the included data acquisition software MC_Rack - 3 independent stimulus generators - Current stimulation at max. +/-1 mA - Voltage stimulation at max. +/-10 V - Sampling rate max. 50 kHz per channel - Integrated heating element (20, PT 100 sensor) - With installed metal plate for fixing perfusion equipment A system is required that is controlled by a PC computer and has a data acquisition/analysis software package for automatic data collection and analysis. Interface board with signal processor for real-time signal detection and feedback. Includes various in-/outputs: - 4x Digital Out: Interface for output bit 0-3 of the 16-bit digital input / output channels (Lemo connector) - 4x Digital In for synchronization with other instruments (bit 0-3) (Lemo connector) - Digital IN / OUT: Interface for 16-bit digital input / output channels. Generates or accepts TTL-pulses. - 1x Stereo Out: Possibility to export 2 channels (e.g on an oscilloscope or headphones making the signals audible) - 2x Analog IN: Interface for 2 additional analog inputs (channel 1 and 2) (Lemo connector) - Analog IN: 8-channel Analog input (channel 1-8) 1 x TC02: 2-channel temperature controller for biological samples - Set-point temperature reached fast within 30 seconds to 5 minutes - Control temperature range from ambient temperature to +50 °C - Precision controller using PI characteristics Software with USB interface that controls the temperature. - Heatable perfusion cannula with temperature sensor - Peristaltic perfusion system with one inlet and one drain pump, which is necessary for the study of drug effects and other environmental manipulations. - Controlled by software or touch pad - Flow rate: 0 - 30 ml/min Must include an inverted microscope that is compatible with the MEA system for accurate recording and for capture images for morphological and functional analysis. The fluorescence capability must enable identification of specific labeled cells for recordings. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 423450 (size standard 200 employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue a RFQ. Term of Contract/Delivery Period Date of award + 90 days Type of Contract Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, April 4, 2017 12:00 Noon, EST. Pricing may be submitted for market research purposes since quotes are not required since this notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. *No telephone responses will be accepted.
