- Description
- The Iowa/Illinois Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) will host the RIA APBI, ACC-RI Industry Day, and Midwest Small Business Government Contracting Symposium May 24-25, 2017 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The RIA APBI will be held on May 24, 2017, to provide information on requirements in support of US Army Sustainment Command (ASC), US Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC), the RIA Garrison, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District. In addition, representatives from US Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems, US Army Human Resources Command, US Army Chief Information Officer/G-6, US Army Program Manager for Joint Services and the Reachback Division will also present information on requirements supported by ACC-RI. An ACC-RI Industry Day will also be held during the APBI on May 24, 2017. A panel consisting of ACC-RI Contracting Officers and representatives from Industry will present "Source Selection Discussions" and exchange thoughts and answer questions on this topic. The APBI is an annual broad-based business briefing conducted to provide industry with a comprehensive overview of projected Army requirements and corresponding contracting opportunities, extending from the current year through three to five years, with the addition of special topics of current interest. The event also provides a unique forum in which senior military and civilian leaders and key action officers within the requirements development community have an opportunity to present overviews and updates regarding their future acquisitions. GEN Gustave F. Perna, Commanding General, US Army Materiel Command and MG Edward M. Daly, Commanding General, ASC will make presentations during the APBI. Last year's APBI drew more than 600 attendees including both small and large businesses, elected officials and representatives from various Government agencies. The Small Business Symposium offers both large and small businesses the opportunity to interact with several Government and non-Government agencies including the Small Business Administration, Quad City Chamber of Commerce, Quad City Manufacturing Hub, Iowa State University Center for Industrial Research and Service, General Service Administration, Department of Defense, and Department of the Army. Small Business Symposium participants will have the opportunity to network with and gain insight from several local businesses that will be hosting expo booths with opportunities and requirements for teaming partners. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in round-table discussions on a myriad of topics developed to educate and inform on several Government Contracting related topics across a diverse set of industries. Small Business Symposium participants will have the opportunity to network and engage in dialogue with several Government agencies located at the RIA; including ACC-RI, ASC Office of Small Business Programs, JMC, Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center, and the Rock Island District, US Army Corps of Engineers. An ACC-RI Contracting Officer will make a presentation on proposal preparation aimed at helping Industry avoid submitting proposals that do not adhere to Request for Proposal instructions, resulting in adverse consequences. Those planning to attend the APBI and/or the Small Business Symposium must register to attend the NDIA Midwest Small Business Government Contracting Symposium. Additional information including the complete event agenda and electronic registration is available at: http://www.ndia-ia-il.org/symposium/index.html. In addition to the RIA APBI, ACC-RI Industry Day and Midwest Small Business Government Contracting Symposium, ASC and ACC-RI are hosting an Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) Industry Day and One-on-One sessions and a Logistics Civil Augmentation Program V (LOGCAP V) Industry Day on May 23, 2017, also at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois.
