- Description
- Title: Industry Day in Support of Joint Project Manager for Protection's Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble Increment 2 (UIPE Incr 2) The Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble Increment 2 (UIPE Incr 2) will be a protective system that provides reduced operational burden compared to current protective ensembles and with the objective to be similar in form and fit as a combat duty uniform. It will provide percutaneous protection against chemical and biological warfare agents, as well as, radiological particles (alpha and beta only). The UIPE Incr 2 will increase Warfighter ability to meet current and future operational demands throughout the full range of military operations by reducing physiological burden associated with previously fielded ensembles. It will balance risk and operational need with the intent of optimizing design to ensure peak operator performance. It will provide commanders with expanded options for protection of the force commensurate with the varying security challenge environments and specific adversary threats likely to be encountered. In preparation for release of requirement needs, the UIPE Incr 2 team in conjunction with the Consortium for Energy, Environment and Demilitarization (CEED) are hosting an Industry Day. The morning session will focus on updates to the UIPE Incr 2 acquisition strategy since the previous industry day in September 2016. The UIPE Incr 2 team will discuss the newly formed mission areas and the specific profiles that make up each mission area. There will be a discussion on Other Transaction Authority, and specifically, on CEED's Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the Department of the Army, which will be used as the contract vehicle by the UIPE Incr 2 program to acquire prototype technology solutions. A projected timeline for the release of Request for White Papers (RWP), and how the requirement aligns with the mission areas will be presented. You must be a CEED member to respond to this RWP. The afternoon session will consist of one-on-one meetings between the UIPE Incr 2 team and Industry representatives. These sessions will provide Industry the opportunity to present their current efforts to the UIPE Incr 2 team and to ask questions. These meetings will be available on a first come, first served basis. There is no cost to attend the Industry Day, but participants must RSVP (http:www.ceedtechnologies.org/industryday) to attend and request a one-on-one meeting. CEED will follow up with those requesting one-on-one meetings. This Industry Day coincides with CEED's Annual Meeting on April 18th, 2017. You must be a CEED member to attend the Annual Meeting. For more information on CEED and CEED membership, https://www.ceedtechnologies.org/.
