- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a contractor to Design, construct, deliver, install, and test/commission a new pedestal crane on the Corporation's Buoy Barge. A major part of this function is the removal of floating aids to navigation prior to closing the Seaway for the winter and placing them back in service in the spring. The RFP will also contain optional requirements for removing the existing pedestal crane from the Corporation's Buoy Barge and taking ownership of the existing crane (a trade-in). For this project, the Corporation's Buoy Barge will remain moored at the Corporation's Marine Base/Maintenance Facility in Massena, New York. The Buoy Barge is a 150 ft. long x 60 ft. wide x 10 ft. deep U. S. Army Corps of Engineers' (Corps) DeLong jack up pier barge that was modified by the U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) for setting and removing buoys. The Buoy Barge is currently equipped with a pedestal crane Model Number T80-62-82 manufactured by Techcrane International. Please Note: If it is possible to have the new crane installed and tested/commissioned before November 15, 2017 so that we can use it to remove buoys in December, that would be acceptable however; if that cannot be completed prior to November 15, 2017, the installation and testing/commissioning will have to take place after the buoys are placed in the spring. The RFP package will be released on or about April 12, 2017 with a response date of approximately May 15, 2017. This is a total small business set aside. The Corporation will furnish specifications and drawings in electronic format (CD) at a non-refundable cost of $50.00.
