- Description
- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS WILL HAVE A PROCUREMENT IN THE FUTURE IN NEED OF A CUSTOMIZABLE ACCREDITED CONTINUING EDUCATION (CME) PROGRAM. Each physician in our facility must maintain and hold a current medical license (per the Ohio law). To be eligible for renewal every two years, you must have completed 100 CME (Continuing Medical Education) hours. The CME program consists of two categories, Category 1 and Category 2. A minimum of 40 hours must be earned in Category 1 and a maximum of 60 hours may be earned in Category 2. One hour equals one credit. The facility is responsible for providing to the physicians a broad range of primary care and specialty educational activities. The CME program will cover one year of activities. The CME program will be a joint effort between the Cols VA and the vendor. The Columbus VA mission is to support a commitment to improve the health of those we serve by creating high quality educational classes that advance the knowledge, competence, and performance of physicians to enhance their professional practice. The curriculum will include a broad range of primary care activities as well as address the professional development of teaching physicians. The Cols VA CME committee identifies the gaps in the learner s current scope of practice. CME activities will be designed to narrow these gaps by advancing knowledge and competence, continuously improving clinical skills and performance to improve the overall quality and safety of patient care while incorporating the desired physician attributes as defined by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA). The target audience includes physicians but we also welcome attendance of medical students, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to foster multidisciplinary collaboration. Two types of CME will be offered including Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) and a Journal club. The CME activities will designate on an hour by hour basis in Category 1 credit towards the AMA CME requirements. The Cols VA will provide the speakers for each activity to include any administrative support. The Cols VA will collect all of the speaker s pre-requirements, disclosure forms, and any other documentation and send to vendor for pre-approval of CME event. After the event, the Cols VA will send the sign-in rosters to the vendor and for the posting of the CME credit for each physician s account. 5. Specific Tasks. The tasks needed to be completed are as follows: Vendor will provide accredited CME credits to physicians for the following activities: One CME credit for a RSS (regularly Scheduled Series) Grand Rounds presentation of one hour. There will be up to ten (10) CME presentations for the calendar year. One CME credit for a Journal Club presentation of one hour. There will be up to six (6) CME presentations for the calendar year.
