- Description
- The General Services Administration's Automotive Acquisition Support Division invites firms interested in submitting offers under the Government's upcoming 2018 model year solicitations for light duty, light duty vocational, ambulatory, and wheelchair accessible light vehicles to participate in the 2018 Federal Vehicle Standards process which began March 1, 2017. This process, conducted via GSA's AutoStandards web application, assists GSA Automotive to develop the Government's technical requirements for motor vehicles. Vehicle types being sought by the Government include, but are not limited to: - Sedans and Passenger Station Wagons - Cargo and Passenger Vans - Sport Utility Vehicles (crossovers and full-size) - Pickup trucks - Cab & chassis - Vocational Trucks (to include box vans, stake bed trucks and light-duty dump trucks) - Ambulances (Types I, II and III) - Wheelchair Accessible Light Vehicles The General Services Administration is a mandatory source for vehicles purchased in the United States under the Federal Property Management Regulation (FPMR) 101-26.501. GSA's Vehicle Purchasing Division purchases an estimated 40,000 new model year non-tactical vehicles for Federal Executive Agencies and the Department of Defense annually. These vehicle purchases are governed by the Federal Vehicle Standards, which are assimilated every year by GSA Engineering personnel. The AutoStandards process engages interested parties to provide technical data for vehicles to be potentially offered to the Government in response to these forthcoming solicitations and to assist in development of the Federal Vehicle Standards for the current model year. Participation in the AutoStandards process is highly encouraged for all vendors seeking to participate under GSA Automotive solicitations. Interested parties should send email correspondence to automotiveedi.partnerships@gsa.gov for required passwords to the AutoStandards point of entry. A user name and password is obtained by providing the: - Company name - Valid DUNS number - Remittance address - Business size (large/small) - User's name and contact information (email, phone number and fax number) - Desired makes & models For additional information please contact GSA's Vehicle Purchasing Division at 703-605-2277 or by email at vehicle.buying@gsa.gov.
