SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS ARE ATTACHED. RESPONSE DATE: 3 MARCH 2017 NAICS: 333120 POINT OF CONTACT: Valerie Marshall Responses due NO Later than 10:00 a.m. central standard time March 3, 2017. This is a Sources Sought Notice / Draft Request for Proposals is for informational purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, requests information concerning its requirement for Grader Bucket Teeth. The government will consider these responses before issuing a formal solicitation. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this announcement, if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, and after approval of the associated acquisition strategy, a solicitation announcement will be published in the Federal Business Opportunity. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. All interested offerors will have the opportunity to respond to solicitation announcements at a later time. This notice is to assist the Memphis District, Corps of Engineers in determining potential sources and to gauge industry capability. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Main Street B-202, Contracting Division, Room 665, Memphis, TN 38103 no later than 10:00 a.m. central standard time March 3, 2017. NO APPOINTMENTS OR TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Project Description: This is a market survey for providing Grader Bucket Teeth to be delivered to USACE Ensley Engineer Yard, 2915 Riverport Road, Memphis, TN 38109. Specifications included below and Drawing provided as an attachment. PERFOMANCE SPECIFICATIONS This specification reflects those salient characteristics that are essential to the minimum requirements of the Government for 30 Grader Bucket Teeth. Item can be off the shelf to meet specification or the contractor shall provide all equipment, supplies, tools, materials, and other items necessary to fabricate and deliver Grader Bucket Teeth as defined in this Performance Specification. The teeth go on a SAUERMAN CRESCENT SCRAPER BUCKET. It is a 15 cu. yard bucket bank grader type. The bucket is used on a dragline. The bucket weighs 10,539 pounds without the chains and 12,929 pounds with the chains. The part number for the tooth as listed on the print is T-29311A. The drawing number for the tooth as listed on the print is 4S-1553. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum government requirements: Quantity of thirty (30) bucket teeth as indicated by drawing. If fabrication is required: One split wooden pattern with (2) dump core boxes must be provided. Contractor must provide drawing; one sample casting before casting all remaining parts. Pattern, drawings, castings and mold will be retained by USACE. Must include the following minimum specifications. SPECIFICS: Bucket teeth material must be quenched and tempered, A-514 steel casting. USACE has provided a CAD drawing as well as a PDF drawing. USACE has a new sample piece that can be used for dimensioning purposes on request of contractor. The NAICS Code is 333120 will apply to this procurement with a size standard of 1250 employees. Vendors not registered in System for Awards Management (SAM) prior to award will not be eligible for award. Vendors may register for SAM by calling 1-888-227-2423 or register online at http://www.sam.gov. The Government requests capability statements which demonstrate the ability to manufacture/supply Grader Bucket Teeth in accordance with Government requirements. Comments will be shared with the government personnel, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence. Comments may be in a format as chosen by each offeror, but must include the offerors, name, point of contact and phone number, planned role on the project, and socio-economic status. In preparing the formal solicitation, the government makes no commitment to retain any of the elements/provisions of this request for information and may include different elements/provisions in the formal solicitation.
