- Description
- Statement of Work for Axiom Training **THIS NOTICE IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY** Army CID is the sole agency responsible for conducting criminal investigations for the Department of the Army. To support that mission CID has approximately 59 Digital Forensic Examiners, (DFEs) who are qualified to conduct forensic examinations of digital media. CID has been conducting forensic examinations of digital media since the late 1990s. In June of 2013 CID organized its DFEs into a formal Computer Crime Program (CCP). CID is required to research and test forensic tools before they are allowed to be used by DFEs. The testing determines the reliability and functionality of forensic tools and it identifies areas where additional training maybe required. Research determined that Internet Evidence Finder (IEF), the predecessor to Axiom, was the best forensic software available for finding Internet artifacts from social media applications and web pages, particularly on mobile devices. The artifacts found by IEF, now AXIOM, were found to contain information that was absolutely critical to criminal investigations especially sexual assault investigations. Recent testing of Axiom has determined that it contains additional functionality that will require training in order for DFEs to be able to use the software to its full potential. AXIOM is one of two primary forensic tools used by U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC) to conduct forensic examinations of digital media in support of felony criminal investigations. The contractor shall provide advanced training in AXIOM for forty (40) digital forensic examiners (DFEs) and Cyber Crime Investigators (CCIs) at the Elkhorn Conference Center, Fort Carson, CO as defined in this Statement of Work. **If interested please submit capability statements via email to medin.boljevic.civ@mail.mil**
