- This request for information/sources sought notice is for planning purposes ONLY. The results of this market research will assist in the re-evaluation of the acquisition strategy in accordance with recent VA Procurement Policy guidance. VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice. Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify small businesses, and specifically, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources that have the resources and capabilities to provide Biomedical Technician staff services for Wilmington, DE VA Medical Center. Description of Work Contractor is to provide temporary staffing of a Recreation/Creative Arts Teacher for the Wilmington, DE VA Medical Center for up to six (6) hours per week for up to twelve (12) months. The Contractor candidate will provide therapeutic instruction in fine art through small group session or individual sessions applying age-specific competencies. The candidate shall be a skilled and knowledgeable artist who can assist veteran patients with functional impairments to express themselves. The candidate shall be capable to plan and lead various therapeutic groups such as art, music, games, and discussions related to aesthetics, nature and beauty. Small group art sessions should include mask making, mosaics, pastels and charcoal, watercolor, group murals, decorations, etc. The candidate will adapt art activities to allow/enable all resident patients to participate and have successful outcomes. The candidate will attend staff meetings and assist in the coordination of supplies needed and document patient participation using attendance sheets and Event Capture portal of Computerized Patient Records System (CPRS). The candidate must comply with Information Security Requirements and required training. Technical Requirements The Contractor candidate must possess a Bachelor s Degree or higher in one of the following fields: Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or Dance/Movement Therapy. Certification in of the fields is preferred. Candidates must have experience working with a disabled population having complex medical, physical, psychological and social challenges and must be able to adapt activities for various disabilities. Candidates shall have knowledge of various modalities to include: music, art, movement, creative writing, reminiscence therapy, etc. Candidate must be efficient and flexible and work with a high degree of independence. Interested & Capable Responses NCO 4 is seeking responses from small businesses, particularly service disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) and veteran owned (VOSB), who are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources and capabilities necessary to provide these services. This is in accordance with the Supreme Court decision known as The Rule of Two. Please respond with: 1.
