- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the construction of the Townshend Lake Sediment Removal project, located directly at the swimming area at Townshend Lake, in Townshend, Vermont. The project is planned to be issued in March 2017, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a one-month period occurring in the spring of 2017. The location of work to be performed under this contract shall be at the Townshend Dam, located in Townshend, Vermont. This project consists of the following components: -Excavate approximately 11,000 CY of sediment and silt from the Swimming Area at Townshend Lake. -The Government will lower the lake elevation in advance of excavation operations. Excavation will take place in the drawn down area. -Transport and place the excavated material to the designated disposal area located on Federal Property approximately 0.6 miles away from the swimming area. -Grade the disposal area to uniformly distribute excavated material within the disposal area. -Install and maintain approximately 500 LF of silt fence at the disposal area. Silt fence will become the property of the Government at the end of the contract. This solicitation will be available on or about MARCH, 2017. NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SOLICITATION IS RELEASED. The solicitation will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov). In order to view this solicitation, prospective contractors are required to self-register their firm with Federal Business Opportunities (Go to http://www.fbo.gov and "register now" under Vendor/Citizens). Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 237990 with a Small Business Size Standard of $36,500,000.00. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about March, 2017. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
