Description

Network Contracting Office 22 intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with the General Electric Company, 3000 N Grandview Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to procure service to provide hardware and software maintenance and support for the GE TracerLab FX Mel computer-controlled automated radiochemistry system used at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, 11301 Wilshire BLVD, Los Angeles, CA 90073. The GE TracerLab FX Mel computer-controlled automated radiochemistry system is essential for production of the radiotracers used for Positron Emission Tomography in Nuclear Medicine. The GE TracerLab FX MEL computer-controlled automated radiochemistry system which converts carbon dioxide methane produced by a cyclotron to methyl iodide or methyl triflate as an intermediate for further labeling. Both of these precursors are used in the production of many important tracers and have the ability for the reliably for effective radiopharmaceutical, which provides improved safety for the chemistry staff at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The contractor shall perform annual maintenance to ensure that the unit is performing accordingly to the manufacturer specification and guidelines. It is the Government's belief that the proposed candidate is the only provider capable of meeting the Government's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. The period of performance is for a base year and four option periods. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However any business that believes it can meet the necessary Government's requirement may give written notice to Brian.VanOrman@VA.GOV by 23 February 2016 by 2:00p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
