- Description
- BFDS_Market Survey The objective of this market research is to determine if existing commercial or non-developmental items are available and suitable to fulfill the Army's requirement for bulk petroleum semitrailers described below. There is no risk to you for participating in this survey. This is an important opportunity for you to influence the solicitation provisions and contract clauses, our budget requests, and the full range of other elements supporting the acquisition strategy for this program. As currently envisioned, the bulk petroleum semitrailers will consist of a 7,500-gallon BFDS. The 7.5K tankers do not require an on board pump. The semitrailers will be capable of receiving and storing kerosene based fuels (i.e. Jet Propellant (JP) JP-5, JP-8, Jet-A, Jet-A1, F24) and diesel fuel. The 7.5K gallon petroleum semitrailer will also be capable of filtering and issuing kerosene based and diesel fuels. These tankers must be able to carry maximum product while maintaining the ability to negotiate improved roads and environments under varying operational requirements. The tankers will be transportable by all modes of military and commercial transportation including rail, highway, and marine when filled to capacity IAW MIL-STD-1366. The 7.5K tanker shall use the M915 Military Tractor Truck as the prime mover. The 7.5K tanker will be capable of top and bottom fill and will be transportable at any level of fuel. In addition, the tanker must have an integrated tank gauging capability that monitors the quantity of fuel within the tanker and provides a digital readout to the operator. The accuracy of the tank gauging capability must be 99.5% or better. The Army is interested in maximizing the volume that can be towed within the limits of the M915 truck prime mover.
