Description
Solicitation VA69D-17-Q-0580 Notice of Intent to Sole Source reference FAR 6.302-1. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is procuring the following, for the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin: One (1) Identica Scanner for the Dental Clinic at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. The Identica Scanner will be used to scan dental models of teeth preparations. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to award on a sole source basis, IAW 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, a contract to DENTAL ARTS LABS DT TECHNOLOGIES, 3813 Mississippi Avenue, Davenport, IA 52807-1816, as the only responsible source to provide the above items. The Identica Scanner is necessary in order to communicate with the Milling Stations in Green Bay and Milwaukee. There, the metal or other material substructures and crowns/bridges can be custom milled and sent back to the William S. Middleton MVH Dental Lab for finishing prior to insertion into the patient. The Identica Scanner is required as it enhances inter-facility communication and allows for better use of existing resources in other facilities. The purchase of the Identica Scanner and utilizing the resources available at the other VISN 12 Dental laboratories, costs will be significantly reduced (from $200 per crown to approximately $14 per crown), additionally, the turn-around time will be drastically reduced (from 7-10 days down to 24-48 hours), the result of which will lead to better patient satisfaction. The total award amount is estimated to be $28,495.00. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The applicable NAICS Code is 339114 and the size standard is 750 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation or a solicitation of offers. However, all quotes received by February 08, 2017 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement upon receipt of response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There will be no solicitation available.
