Description
03 February 2017 Jaimie K. Zurek (CT) US Army Corps of Engineers 1616 Capitol Ave Omaha, NE 68102 Subject- Notice of Intent to Sole Source in Accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106(b)(1) "Soliciting from a single source." Solicitation Number: W9128F-17-T-0004 Closing response date 13 February 2017 This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 -Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. US Army Corps of Engineers - Omaha District intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price contract to Shannahan Crane & Hoist, Inc. located at 11695 Lakeside Crossing CT; Saint Louis, MO 63146-8606. Description of work- The contractor shall provide services for updating the controls on the Gavins Point powerplant intake crane. The Intake Gantry Crane was originally installed in the mid-1950's and was manufactured by Moffett. In 2011, the crane underwent a project to upgrade the controls to the present state. Since that time, it has been determined that the resistor bank on the main hoist (80 ton capacity) is inadequately sized to allow for the lowering of the load without significant over-heating issues. The existing control system on the crane consists of components manufactured by Magnetek. The contractor shall install contractor furnished components to match the existing crane control system. Work shall include removing the old resistor bank and the installation, testing, and startup of required components to make a fully functional system. Duration of the contract (with options) is estimated to be 70 days A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 811310, "Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance." The size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is $7,500,000. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement. Interested concerns must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Responses and questions shall be submitted to Jaimie.K.Zurek@usace.army.mil. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is not responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
