Description
NX TMG Thermal Analysis Fact Sheet to JPL Solicitation LM-17-06 BACKGROUND: The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is an operating division of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), staffed with Caltech employees, and is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) under the sponsorship of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). As a member of the NASA family JPL is recognized as the agency's only FFRDC. JPL is requesting interest from potential vendors Program to provide thermal analyses and computation fluid dynamics engineering services support. SCOPE: As requested by JPL under a Subcontract Work Order (SWO) process, the subcontractor shall provide the labor, materials, facilities and equipment necessary to assist JPL with thermal analyses and computation fluid dynamics assistance for instrument or spacecraft components, assemblies and systems. 1. Perform integrated thermal, structural analysis for optical systems such as space telescopes for flight systems using Siemens NX (Space Systems Thermal), and TMG. The subcontractor should have at least five (5) years of experience in using both tools for space applications. 2. Perform thermal analysis with demonstrated expertise in subroutine customization for flight optical systems such as Proportional Integrated and Derivative (PID) thermal control, heater circuits, etc. 3. The subcontractor should have employees with active top secret clearance. (a) The employee will have to be local to Pasadena, CA to perform their work on-site. 4. The subcontractor should have employees capable of performing thermal architecting, design and analysis for space flight application for large spacecraft as well as small instruments 5. The subcontractor should have employees to support regular meetings, reviews, etc. 6. The subcontractor should have employees with skillsets to perform computation fluid dynamic analyses using Star CCM+ with at least five (5) year's experience applicable to space systems. 7. Does the candidate Company have experience working with a Federally Funded Research & Development Center (FFRDC)? 8. Is the subcontractor familiar with JPL culture and current processes? STATEMENT OF CAPABILITIES: JPL requests a direct but concise response to key points regarding your company's capabilities and experiences to Questions 1 through Questions 8. JPL requests that interested parties respond to written form not to exceed fifty (50) pages in length.
