- Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), operated by Princeton University under contract to the United States Department of Energy, wishes to obtain expression of interest from qualified and experienced small business concerns capable of managing and operating cafeteria services including catering at PPPL for a 3-year term with PPPL having the option to unilaterally extend the performance period for up to three additional consecutive twelve-month periods. It is PPPL's goal to award a Cost Reimbursement Type Contract for the purpose of providing PPPL's staff and visitor's quality food service at reasonable prices with minimal PPPL subsidy required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 722310 Food Service Contractors, and the Small Business size standard is $38.5 Million. PPPL is located at the James Forrestal Campus three miles from Princeton University's main campus in Princeton, NJ. In support of research efforts, PPPL has a full time staff of approximately 540 employees. Interested small business concerns are invited to respond to this notice by providing an information statement to include a brief description of your firm's history and a description of your facilities, products, services, and customers. A preprinted company brochure is acceptable. A determination as to whether a potential procurement will be a set-aside for small business concerns or full and open competition will be based upon responses to this notice. This SOURCES SOUGHT notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by PPPL. This notice is intended strictly for market research. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. No solicitation exists at this time. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capacity of qualified sources that are capable of providing the required services. Please be advised that PPPL will not reimburse parties for any costs incurred in responding to this request. Expressions of interest must be delivered to PPPL Procurement Specialist, Chi Man Cheung by 4:00 PM Eastern, February 15, 2017. Should PPPL proceed with issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for this requirement, all parties responding to this notice will be notified of RFP availability.
