Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential Large and Small Businesses, including Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Own Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334220 (Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing). The Motorola Solutions, Inc. APX 1000 VHF Model 1.5 Portable Radio is known to meet the Government s needs. The Government is requesting that responsible sources respond if it can provide the following items on a brand name or equal basis: Line Item No. Description Qty Unit 1 H84KDD9PW5 N APX 1000 VHF MODEL 1.5 PORTABLE 25 EA 2 QA04097 ENH: P25 CONVENTIONAL 25 EA 3 NNTN8128BR BATT IMP STD LI ION 1900M 2000T 25 EA 4 WPLN4232A CHARGER, SINGLE-UNIT, IMPRES, 1.25A 25 EA 5 N/A ONE DAY, ON-SITE PROGRAMMING 25 EA Salient Characteristics (Motorola APX 1000 VHF Model 1.5 or EQUAL): Body of radios must be made of durable Mil-Spec-rated plastic or equivalent Charger should be able to plug into standard 120v outlets Must be no greater than 6 H x 2.75 W x 2 D and not weighing more than 13 oz. Must be programmable to operate in digital or analog transmission mode and have advanced features including the ability to disable or stun a particular radio on the network Radio should have an information screen with backlight Must be able to operate in all weather conditions, and temperatures ranging of at least -20 to +135 degrees Fahrenheit Radios must be able to text message and have voice announcements (i.e., audible, pre-recorded messages) When radios are operational, batteries must last 10-to-12 hours or longer Radios must be backwards- and forwards-compatible with all Motorola radio systems Radios must be capable of communicating with the following equipment: Motorola Astro 25 System Motorola APX 6000 Radios Motorola APX 7000 Radios Motorola APX 7500 Radios Motorola HT750 Radios Interested Large and Small Businesses, including VOSBs and SDVOSBs, are required to submit an e-mail delineating: Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; and If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334220 and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Jim Hedman at james.hedman2@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 09:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on Friday, February 3rd, 2016.
