Description
The intended contract action is for acquisition of facilities and hosting support services for the NASA 8th Annual Robotic Mining Competition (RMC), to be held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex (KSCVC) Rocket Garden, May 22, 2017 through May 26, 2017. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at KSC, Inc. (DNC), Mail Code: DNPS, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899-0001. This procurement is to provide the necessary facilities and services for the Robotics Mining Competition, Awards Ceremony and Reception. Scope of Work: The RMC consists of an opening ceremony, competition, and awards ceremony and dinner, and will take place over the following performance period: May 22, 2017 through May 26, 2017. The Contractor shall provide the Robotics area competition tents, opening ceremony stage, and audio/visual support at the KSCVC, and the awards ceremony and dinner at the Apollo/Saturn V Center for not to exceed 500 guests. The Contractor shall provide support for the events to: provide exhibit booths inside KSCVC, Pits (work areas) for teams; ensure adequate audio/visual support in preparation for the opening ceremony, competition, and awards ceremony; provide KSCVC area access for RMC Planning Team, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Provide complimentary limited access to the KSCVC for RMC Planning Team, volunteers, judges, team memeber and faculty advisors. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 11:59 p.m. local time on February 8, 2017. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the Agency.
