Description
This amendment is issued to: Extend the closing date to 30 Jan 2017 at Noon ET Provide clarification and additional details regarding job. General: New HVAC unit is to be set a minimum of 16 inches off the ground. Pad can be poured or constructed of prefabbed materials. Existing HVAC system and duct work is to be removed and disposed of properly. Penetrations resulting from the removal are to be sealed. A digital Wifi enabled thermostat is to be provided and installed. Thermostat must connect directly to wifi and not require a gateway. A new thermostat wire is to be run to the HVAC system. Splicing of the thermostat wire is not permitted. A dedicated gas line is to be run form the meter to the new HVAC unit. Gas line must be run in accordance with all local and national codes. The line must be pressured tested and approved by the COR before being placed in service. Gas piping to the existing furnace is to be capped at the gas main in the basement of the home and checked to verify no gas leaks are present at location line is capped. General Ductwork: Supply duct will consist of approximately 60 linear feet of square metal duct and approximately 12 supply take off ranging in size from 6 10 inches with an average distance per run being 15 linear feet. Duct is to be sized using on HVAC equipment manufacturer recommended static pressure. Existing supply boots and registers maybe be reused but all other duct work is to be removed and replaced. One new supply outlet is to be installed in the foyer as noted on the attached drawing. Return air duct will consist of approximately 45 linear feet of square metal duct. Two (2) 25 x 30 returns with filter grilles are to be installed under the stairs as noted on the attached drawing. Round duct is not to be used on return air. Return duct is to be sized using HVAC equipment manufacture recommended static pressure. All existing return duct is to be removed and disposed of offsite. Existing floor return is to be covered with metal flashing at the round opening. Supply and Return duct shall be insulated with an R 8 or higher insulation. Installation of Ductwork: General: Assemble and install ductwork in accordance with recognized industry practices which will achieve air-tight and noiseless (no objectionable noise) systems, capable of performing each indicated service. Install each run with minimum number of joints. Align ductwork accurately at connections, within 1/8" misalignment tolerance and with internal surfaces smooth. Support ducts rigidly with suitable braces, and anchors of type which will hold ducts true-to-shape and to prevent buckling. Penetrations: Where ducts pass through interior partitions and exterior walls, and are exposed to view, conceal space between construction opening and duct or duct insulation with sheet metal flanges of same gage as duct. Overlap opening on 4 sides by at least 1-1/2". Fasten to duct and substrate.
