Description
RFI/Sources Sought Resistance Calibration System & DC Current Shunts Classification Code: 66 -- Instruments and Laboratory Equipment NAICS Code: 334 - Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing/ 334515 Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals Description: This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This is not a Request for Proposal, a Request for Quotation, or Invitation for Bids. There is currently no solicitation package available. A requirement by the government exists for a resistance calibration system and a DC current shunt. The Navy is requesting industry provide product descriptions of items that meet the salient characteristics of the following items: 1. A turn-key fully automated resistance system including the ability to measure resistance from 1 micro-ohm to 1 Giga-ohm with accuracy not exceeding ±6 ppm at 1 Giga-ohm with test voltages up to 1000V in a single resistance bridge. 10 standard resistor elements from 0.1 to 100 Mega-ohm. 300A range extender, 32 channel low thermal scanners. Ability to use system in measurement configuration or the standard resistors as a standalone standard without disconnecting anything. This system will be used to calibrate resistance transfer standards, multi-meter calibrators, DC current shunts, and digital multi-meters. 2. DC current shunts, salient characteristics include: The DC current shunt has nine setting range from 10 micro-amps to 300 amps. The current shunt will be used to calibrate current sources, panel meter calibrators, power supplies, and other assorted equipment. All corporate and proprietary information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the extent allowed. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals. Questions and submissions may be submitted by email to Eric Murphy at the following address richard.j.murphy3@navy.mil.
