- Description: ****ATTENTION*****ALL FORMAL COMMUNICATION RELATED TO THIS ACQUISITION MUST BE DIRECTED TO MONTY D. TEASLEY, CONTRACTING OFFICER, CCAM-ALL, VIA email: monty.d.teasley.civ@mail.mil. No telephone requests will be accepted. This contract action is for a six month extension for continued support for Ft. Hood (Temple, TX) Forward Repair Activity (FRA) currently being procured under contract W58RGZ-16-C-0019. The purpose of this effort is for the contractor to continue providing program support/engineering services for the Mast Mounted Sight Subsystem and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment in support of the Kiowa Warrior, OH-58 weapon system. The period of performance for this effort will be approximately 1 January 2017 - 30 June 2017. The contractor shall conduct depot level repair operations at Ft. Hood (Temple, TX) forward repair activities. Logistics support technicians support and forward repair activities support will be required in support of this extension. The authority cited is 10 United States Code (USC) 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) entitled, Only One Responsible Source, and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The restricted source is DRS Optronics, Inc., Melbourne, Florida, Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) Code: 32865, the original equipment manufacturer, and the only known source capable of performing this work in the timeframe required to satisfy the Army's minimum needs. This sources sought is provided for informational purposes and is not to be considered a request for proposal. Firms that recognize and can provide the required services described above are encouraged to identify themselves. Adequate technical data is not available for this acquisition. All offerors must meet prequalification requirements in order to be eligible for award. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the Agency. The closing date annotated is an estimated date and may be adjusted dependent upon the date of release for solicitation; however, the solicitation will not close prior to the date stated above. Foreign Firms are reminded that all requests for solicitation must be processed through their respective embassies. All prospective manufacturers, or distributors, seeking to compete for a solicitation for Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Spares, for any restricted source parts, are required to be an AMCOM approved source. To obtain approval, vendors must submit a SAR package, for review and approval, to the Engineering Directorate (ED), Quality Engineering Division. Source approval must be obtained prior to being considered for contract award. Approvals are made on an individual part number basis for a specific manufacturing location (CAGE). Firms are encouraged to seek source approval in order to compete for future solicitations by following the SAR submission guidance provided on the website http://amcomdmz.redstone.army.mil/casl_cmo/casldba.casl_cmo_samsar.
