- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation for an upcoming solicitation. No response is necessary. The Government is preparing to issue an engineering, and research & development services contract for Secondary Power Systems (SPS) and Auxiliary Power Units (APU). These services will include part redesigns, investigation support, engineering inquires, and general engineering services in support of operations and maintenance. It will include the following weapons systems: F-16, B-2, C-5, KC-135 and other potential platforms including other defense agencies. The existing SPS and/or start cart designs are proprietary to Pratt & Whitney. They have many different requirements based upon the associated weapons system. There is a certain amount of proprietary data involved with mating parts that may have to be obtained by the contractor depending upon the support requirement. The work required for this contract should be a qualified source which has experience in manufacturing, testing and design secondary power systems and auxiliary power units. The design of this hardware is very complex and the highest engineering standards will be sought. This will be a 5 year Indefinite/Requirements contract with 2 additional option periods of 1.5 years each. Anticipated date for posting of solicitation will be January 2 nd. Solicitation will remain open for 30 days once posted. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not to request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 30 days after date of publications of solicitation will be considered by the Government.
