- Response date (Deadline): December 15, 2016 at 1:00pm Statement of Work (SOW) Title of Project: Interprofessional Education in Geriatrics and Gerontology for Healthcare Professionals: Contract for accreditation of e-learning modules for the VISN 2 GRECC at the James J. Peters VAMC at 130 W. Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY. Background: The purpose of this Statement of Work is to outline the tasks and responsibilities of an Accreditation body to meet the needs of the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the JJP VAMC. This will be for www.gerischolars.org, a program based at the GRECC which is a VA workforce development project that is funded through the Office of Rural Health under the Rural Provider and Staff Training Initiative. The GRECC created a Virtual Learning Community with 10 courses, consisting of geriatrics resources, tools, videos, and other curricula, which are posted to www.gerischolars.org. Course content is intended for primary care providers and staff from a range of disciplines and backgrounds. The GRECC seeks accreditation for 14 e-learning modules that exist within the courses. Scope of Work: The service required is accreditation for 14 e-learning modules, which will be made available to participating trainees, providers, and staff from across VISN 2 and nationally. Participants will also include learners from outside VHA. Up to 2,000 learners should be able to participate in each of the 14 e-learning modules and receive continuing education credit from their respective licensure boards after completing all required components. Target Audience Physicians and other healthcare professionals. Healthcare and social service providers and faculty, including primary care healthcare providers and staff, from a range of disciplines. General Requirements: Task One: Review and approve CME application for 14 e-learning modules. Participant instructions to receive credit and/or certificates Only physician attendees (MD, DO or equivalent) are eligible to claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. All other attendees may obtain a Certificate of Participation* and/or Attendance. Review required CME information associated with each course module Complete all components of a module(s) Complete and submit post-test and program evaluation through the GRECC managed Learning Management System website (gerischolars.org). Credit will be issued with a passing score of 70% or better. Task End Result, Deliverable Schedule: Review and approve accreditation package of enduring materials on www.gerischolars.org. Provide learners with CME certificate, after completing individual e-learning module requirements Certificates will be emailed with 3 months of completion of individual activity Accreditation The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Benefit to VA employees --- The purpose of this educational program is to improve knowledge and skills in providing healthcare for older Veterans. The Virtual Learning Community is part of the VA initiative to improve care, recruit and retain staff in rural areas, to deliver Patient-Centered Care, and meet VA strategic goals, as part of the Rural Provider and Staff Training Initiative. Healthcare providers require continuing education to maintain licensure and this service will be provided to participants at no-cost and will require no travel from their stations. Furthermore, the focus on geriatrics meets a demand for increased knowledge and skills in the care of older adults throughout VHA. Additional Notes: The C&A requirements do not apply for this contract, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required. No VA sensitive information will be used or transmitted in the conducting of this project. Type of Procurement: The responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will help determine what, if any, type of set-aside. Contract Vehicle: The resulting contract vehicles from this process will be a firm fixed price. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company/individual name, a service capability statement, examples of similar facilities which you have provided services to, DUNS number, address, point of contact and social-economic category (ex: SBVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, Small Business). If your firm is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business, you must be CERTIFIED in VetBiz (see internet site: http://vip.vetbiz.gov).
