Description

Combined Synopsis Solicitation 4366739 The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) will provide custom breeding of HET3 mice by crossing CByB6F1/J (Stock #10009) females and C3D2DF1/J (Stock #100004) males to generate mixed background offspring. Shipments of 50 males and 50 females at 4 weeks of age and age-matched C56BL/6J controls (50 males and 50 females) will occur every 12 weeks. The Translational Gerontology Branch (TGB) in an inter-laboratory collaboration with the Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience, Laboratory of Cardiovascular Science, Laboratory of Clinical Investigation, Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Immunology, Laboratory of Molecular Gerontology, and the Comparative Medicine Section will conduct a longitudinal study of aging in mice to identify biomarkers shared with humans that could serve as predictive factors for disease initiation and increase in mortality risk. This is a project funded by OSD funds as part of the inter-laboratory research proposals.
