Description

The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) intends to acquire Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for the main engine turbocharger, ABB Model VTR501-2P on a Sole Source basis from ABB Inc., 11600 Miramar Pkwy Suite 100, Miramar, FL, 33025-5809. ABB Inc. has advised that the parts for this model turbocharger will soon no longer be manufactured and sold. MARAD is acquiring critical spare parts to ensure it can continue to maintain and operate the TS STATE OF MAINE. ABB Inc. is the OEM and, as such, maintains a unique ability to provide replacement parts to comply with the original design specifications in order to achieve maximum performance reliability, durability and safe operation of this high speed rotating equipment.
