- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION / SOURCES SOUGHT INQUIRY The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19, Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center (RMAC) is seeking information and sources that are capable of providing a certified Health Physicist who meets Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Safety Officer, and National Health Physics Program (NHPP) requirements, and perform equipment surveys at VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (VAECHCS). The Contractor shall provide medical physics performance and compliance evaluations of all VAECHCS radiation producing equipment, shielding, and protocol review. The Contractor shall travel to multiple facilities geographically separated. The Contractor shall provide his or her own transportation to sites at no additional cost to government. The Contractor shall perform site visits to VAECHCS location as frequently as required at no additional cost to the government. The Contractor shall use his or her own equipment to complete all required work. The contractor shall be responsible for any closeout surveys that are required when an area will no longer be utilizing radiation. The Contractor shall provide all equipment including phantoms necessary for testing. The Contractor shall perform MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine equipment surveys, and diagnostic radiology and special procedures on a full time basis. Physicist shall complete Shielding Integrity Evaluations and Room Scatter Surveys on initial/acceptance tests to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, i.e., Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), American College of Radiology (ACR), Federal & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. Place of Performance: The Contractor shall travel to multiple facilities geographically separated. Qualifications: The Contractor shall furnish a certified Health Physicist who meets Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Safety Officer, and National Health Physics Program (NHPP) requirements. This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation! This is not a request for proposal (RFP). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice. Requests for copies of a solicitation shall not be honored or acknowledged.
