Description
This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 511210. The Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC) has a mission essential requirement for the purchase of DNAXpress software annual software maintenance licenses and support. DNAXpress is a forensic science application used by laboratories for DNA sample management. The program allows the examiners to more effectively and efficiently perform their DNA analytical procedures by assisting with assignment, tracking, and processing of samples throughout the DNA process. This software is employed by both the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory (USACIL) and the Forensic Expeditionary Division (FXD) for processing of DNA samples in criminal cases and DNA examinations supporting contingency operations. Period of Performance shall consist of a twelve month base period and three one year options. Potential offerors having the skills, experience, professional qualifications and capabilities necessary to perform the described requirement are invited to provide a capabilities statement via email. The capabilities statement shall not exceed five (5) pages and must include the following: 1.Company name and point of contact information (e.g., address, telephone number, e-mail, website, etc). 2.DUNS number and Cage Code 3.Small Business Size/Certification (e.g., 8a, HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc) 4.Familiarity and knowledge of the requirement Responses are due no later than 13:00 EST, Friday, 02 December 2016 and shall be submitted electronically to Trina Wadley via email at trina.k.wadley.civ@mail.mil. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. Response is strictly voluntarily, no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information request.
