- This is a request for information only (RFI) to identify Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business/Veteran-owned small business sources that a base + 4 year lease is requested for a mailing/shipping system, including inserter, printer, and accommodating software to be installed at the Captain James A Lovell FHCC, North Chicago, IL. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the government. The Dept of Veterans Affairs has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and the release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become government property and will not be returned. Responders are advised that the US Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website. Contractor shall provide the following lease for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC, North Chicago, IL. Lease is for a base period, plus 4 option periods. Rental systems shall be delivered and installed at the designated destination by 30 days ARO. Offeror shall provide the following: Item No. Brand Name and Part Numbers Description QTY UNIT UNIT PRICE EST TOTAL PRICE 0001 Base year, plus 4 option years for the leasing of a mailing/shipping system, including an inserter, printer, and accommodating software for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC 1(base) Year 0002 Installation and training 1 job 1001 Option Period 1 for the leasing of a mailing/shipping system, including an inserter, printer, and accommodating software for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC Option Period #1 Year 2001 Option Period #2 for the leasing of a mailing/shipping system, including an inserter, printer, and accommodating software for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC Option Period #2 Year 3001 Option Period #3 for the leasing of a mailing/shipping system, including an inserter, printer, and accommodating software for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC Option Period #3 Year 4001 Option Period #4 for the leasing of a mailing/shipping system, including an inserter, printer, and accommodating software for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC Option Period #4 Year BASE YEAR TOTAL TOTAL Salient Characteristics: Please identify the Brand and Equipment number of proposed machines. Technical specifications are required to be submitted on all proposed equipment and software. Mailing/Shipping system: 205 letters per minute or better while using weight and size based metering based on 1oz #10 envelopes 300 letter per minute or better in batch mode based on 1oz #10 envelopes Max envelope thickness processing and sealing of at least 3/4 inch or better Unit will need to connect to the Internet via a high speed data connection 15 inch High resolution monitor with touchscreen input capability Integrated weighing platform to accommodate up to 70 pounds Ability to support both wet and dry application of continuous roll gummed pressure sensitive postage tape. Power stacker for the machine 100 department accounting It is a requirement that the equipment and associated technology be able to take advantage of USPS Commercial Based Pricing Discounts and the other full IMpb benefits offered by the USPS including: Providing end-to-end tracking information Get status from every scan point Commercial Base Pricing Discounts Free Insurance on Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express Keeping you compliant for future USPS ® features, products, and services Proposed equipment and associated technology allows the Government to fund one postage metering account to cover all US Postal Service transactions processed by the equipment for this location Equipment and associated technology meets US Federal Government Mandate to be IPv6 compliant. Folder/Inserter: Must process at least 62,000 pieces per month Must process up to 4000 letters per hour Must have the ability to insert non-folded 8.5 x 11 sheets into 9 x12 flat envelopes Must have 4 feeders that can be used as sheet or Insert feeder Insert feeders must have the ability to hold at least 350 #9 return envelopes Sheet feeders must have the ability to hold at least 350 Outer envelope feeder must hold at least 250 #10 envelopes or 100 9 x 12 envelopes Fold type requirements C, Z, Half (V), Double Parallel, No Fold,/ Flats Must have the ability to read Optical Marks on the sheets generated by current PB1st software to determine the number of pages that go into an envelope Automatic Light Sensor Double Document Detection on All Feeders Automatic Light Sensor Document Measurement on All Feeders Must have the ability to pre or post fold accumulation of material Bottom address inverter Printer: Ink jet technology is required as it used a cool flat and dry process to allow for transfer to folder inserter to reduce jams 90 Color Images Per Minute Right hand Stack that will hold up to 1000 sheets Have the ability to hold up to 1,5000 sheets RIP Software: Document formation option to all for the continuation of creating the appointment reminder letters and call for future letters Support: Vendor shall provide 4 hour maintenance/support response time at all locations and if not able to resolve the service issue over the phone a field service technician shall be dispatched to arrive on site within 4 working hours once called. Annual preventive maintenance Unlimited service calls Include all parts/labor except consumable items
