Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command – New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, in support of the Program Executive Office Combat Support and Combat Service Support (PEO CS&CSS), is planning to issue a Request for Information (RFI) to members of the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) for the Squad Multipurpose Equipment Transport (SMET) unmanned ground vehicle. The purpose of the RFI is engage industry, to maximum extent practicable, in determining the state of the current/potential technology and by soliciting feedback on an initial draft of the performance specification (P-Spec). By providing industry with greater visibility and granularity into the DOD’s operational needs early in the process, industry is able to more clearly focus on providing the solutions that the Government is seeking. Furthermore, it allows the Government to gain a better understanding of the current/future state of technology for the SMET, which will help refine the requirements of the draft P-Spec. It should be noted that only members of the NAMC will be able to participate in the RFI. The RFI will be issued to the NAMC’s Administrative Agent, National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), who will then issue the request to the members of the Consortium. For information on the NAMC and/or how to become a member, visit the following website: http://defensemobility.org/ This Special Notice is for informational purposes only.
