Description

Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with The Spectranetics Corporation (DUNS: 151047370), pursuant to FAR part 12, FAR part 13, and specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) procedures. The proposed sole source purchase order is for a maintenance contract for emergency and routine maintenance of an existing Spectranetics CVX-300 Gen 4.0R/U Excimer Laser located at the Asheville VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina. The NAICS code for this contract action is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $20.5 million annual revenue. The Product Service Code for this action is J066, Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment- Instruments and Laboratory Equipment. The original equipment manufacturer, The Spectranetics Corporation (DUNS: 151047370), does not have an authorized service distribution network, as communicated by the company's representatives. Spectranetics does not sell replacement parts that could be obtained by third party service providers. The Veterans Health Administration procurement policy prohibits the use of gray market (unauthorized) parts and equipment in VA medical facilities. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the below point of contact by no later than Friday, October 14, 2016, 03:00PM EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
