- Description
- This is the correct document which shows the revisions that occurred on 22 September 2016. The purpose of this modification is to attach the correct SOW file and to post Q&As from recent conversations with interested vendors. The file that was posted yesterday was the un-edited version of the SOW. Please see Attachment 001(rev.1) for the most up-to date version of the SOW. The Questions and Answers from recent interactions with vendors are lsited below: 1) 1.1.2. The tracks which the carriage units rest upon must be laser leveled, without a raised deck, embedded and grouted in place within the concrete floor, and must have dual steel ramps on either side of the tracks to prevent tripping hazards. This type of system is not re-locatable without leaving the track behind and requires replacement parts when moving. Will you accept a surface mounted system with decking to fill between the tacks? ---If you look at the revised SOW which was posted last night, this question will be answered. Short answer: yes, you can use a surface mounted track solution, so long as it does not require a raised deck. 2) How many carriage drive handles? ---If so, one per carriage, facing the side that's defined in Appendix B, page 7. 3) Do you want closed full height, half height or pedestal drive ends? Steel or laminate if half or full height? ---You might be able to answer this question by looking at the most recently revised SOW. I believe this is referring to the drive handle mechanism covers. Half height would be fine, as for the cover, steel is preferred. 4) 300 lb shelf capacity is considered light duty and the SOW is - Heavy Duty Mobile Shelving Cabinets. Heavy duty is considered 500 lbs or more per shelf on industrial clip shelving. Would the end user like to see more options on shelving capacity and designs? ---I apologize for the semantical error. We are looking for the minimum capacities listed in the SOW, regardless of duty designation. 5) Do you want closed sides as well as backs on the A shelving? ---Closed sides and backs. Having open sides would effectively negate the purpose of secure doors. 6) Do you want wide span heavy duty bulk rack for the 6' and 7' wide units with roll up doors? ---The 6' and 7' stationary units will mirror the shelving requirements of the mobile units. 7) Is the bottom pull out shelf on "track" a roll out shelf on glides or slides similar to a modular drawer cabinet? What capacity? ---As long as it rolls out, meets the weight specifications, you are free to propose what solutions you see fit. 8) Do you want the mobile shelving system to be lockable since the B units all have roll up doors? ---We would prefer that the entire system has a secure lock-up system, though this is not an actual requirement. However, an unsecure safety locking mechanism is a part of the requirement. So long as the units have keyed-alike locking doors, it will be technically acceptable.
