Description

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks sources with prior experience designing, fabricating, assembling, tuning, and magnetically characterizing in vacuum hybrid undulator magnets for use on synchrotron storage rings. Notable characteristics of the required undulator magnet include 85 each 22mm periods plus end periods, Keff>1.8 at 6.8mm vertical clear aperture, and <2.5 degree rms phase error. Since the undulator is intended for use on a low emittance storage ring, the full magnet specification includes careful control of field errors, field integrals, field roll off, multipole coefficients, etc. The successful vendor must have a demonstrated history of successful in vacuum undulator design through final magnetic characterization.
