Description
NATIONAL TRANSIT INSTITUTE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL #3095 TRANSIT RIDERSHIP FORECASTING (TPE27) Date for receipt of proposals : TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2016 by 2:00 PM (EST) The National Transit Institute (NTI) is seeking proposals from qualified professionals to facilitate its existing Transit Ridership Forecasting course. In addition, NTI may periodically request proposers to edit/update the existing course materials for NTI's Transit Ridership Forecasting two and one-half-day course is to instruct public transit professionals in the design, use and application of transit ridership forecasting. The secondary goal of the course is to provide attendees with knowledge of how to use STOPS in this effort. Key topics include: •· Ridership forecasting for project planning •o Quality control of forecasts •o Development of insights for decision making •· Ridership forecasting •o Model running does not equal ridership forecasting •§ Model running produces lots of numbers •§ Travel forecasters provide insights for decision •o Insights come from •§ Routing analytical summaries of the numbers •§ Careful review by skilled forecasters •§ Well-crafted explanations for non-technical audiences •· STOPS •o How it works •o How to make it work for your application The course is designed so that maximum input will be elicited from students. A high level of interaction is encouraged between the instructors and participants.
