- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source contract to Fluor Inc. to purchase the 2 megawatts of backup power to the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) located in Jordan. The King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) is an installation located in Amman, Jordan that specializes in the latest counter-terrorism, special operations and irregular warfare tactics, techniques and procedures. Operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 2 megawatt (MW) backup generators at KASOTC is currently provided by Fluor under the predecessor task order W912BU-10-D-0017-0008, issued on a competitive basis under the FOB, Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC). The Government intends to purchase the generators from Fluor and compete the O&M of the 2 megawatt backup generators among an IDIQ or full and open competition. The pursuant O&M contract action will be issued at a later date. The action is pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The current task order, W912BU-11-D-0012-0011, expires on 29 September 2016. The purpose of this contract is to purchase the 2 megawatts of backup power to the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) located in Jordan. The Government intends to award and issue notice to proceed (NTP) on this contract by 30 September 2016. Award to any source other than IAP would result in unacceptable duplication of costs to the Government. Under the authority authorized by FAR 6.302-1, this action is directed towards Fluor Inc. This notice of intent is being issued for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals. Solicitation documents are not available. All comments or concerns in regards to this notice of intent shall be directed to Justin Chung at justin.chung@usace.army.mil and must be received within seven (7) from publication of this synopsis.
