- Description
- Special Notice The Government intends to issue a bridge contract to Enersys Energy Products, Inc. (0WY95) / Exide Technologies (0S0P8) to continue work being performed on long term contracts SPE7LX-14-D-0020 / SPE7LX-14-D-0021. This contract will have a period of performance ranging from October 4, 2016 through April 04, 2016. This action will be completed by issuance of a limited source award or split awards through a new contract. The contract award is for a single NSN, 6140-01-458-1472, a lead-acid storage battery which is used in a variety of land based vehicles to include multiple Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMMT), the M-1 Abrams Tank, Bradley Fighting Vehicle, Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV), and the Heavy Equipment Truck Tractor. This action is being pursued to ensure continued coverage of cage and part numbered NSN listed above while the successor long term contract initiative is being evaluated and subsequently awarded. The current long term contract is scheduled to end on or before February 20, 2017. Information regarding the bridge contract can be obtained from the primary point of contact Eric Snow ( eric.snow@dla.mil ). This notice of intent is a solicitation for a bridge contract awarded to the approved source contractors (Enersys Energy Products, Inc. (0WY95) / Exide Technologies (0S0P8). Specifications are available on this NSN; however, this part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved source(s). This acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not possess complete, unrestrictive technical data; therefore, the Government intends to solicit and contract with only the approved sources under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). All terms and conditions as indicated in the current contracts (SPE7LX-14-D-0020 / SPE7LX-14-D-0021) will remain the same for the bridge contract.
