- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTE; THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 20, in support of Veteran Affairs Healthcare System, Walla Walla, WA is currently requesting information in order to determine the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing Regulated Medical Waste Services for the Walla Walla Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) VAMC Healthcare System. The intended contract period of performance is for a base year with four (4) one-year option periods. Description of Services: The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment i.e. acceptable receptacles and supplies, insurance, proper licensing, tools, materials, travel, transportation, and supervision necessary to provide Regulated Medical Waste Removal Services for the following locations: The CBOCs are located at: -Yakima, WA VA Medical Center 717 Fruitvale Blvd 98902-1465 -Richland, WA VA Medical Center 825 Jadwin Ave 2nd Floor 99352-3589 -Lewiston, ID VA Medical Center 1630 23rd Ave Bldg #2 83501-6350 -La Grande, OR VA Medical Center 202 12th Street 97850 The NAICS code assigned is: 562211 Hazardous Waste Treatment and Disposal Services and the small business size standard is $38.5 million. The Government is not soliciting offers at this time, and it will be the Contracting Officer who will determine which suggested changes are accepted. This is a sources sought notice to gain knowledge of potential Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) Concerns who are capable and qualified to perform services. Responses to this request will be considered for the purpose of determining how the requirements will be stated and how the procurement will be conducted. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The Contractor shall state their ability, to a high degree of detail, to meet the requirement of regulated medical waste removal. The contractor should further include how you will procedurally obtain a certificate issued by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission which regulates medical waste collection services in the state of Washington. The contractor should provide compelling proof of holding a current certificate of public convenience and necessity or how they will gain the certificate through sub-contracting with a contractor who possesses this certificate before operating as a solid waste collection company in the state of Washington. Please ensure you clearly and concisely articulate how your firm will provide this certificate or subcontract with a company that already has this certificate? Parroting or simply stating you will meet the requirement will not suffice to develop the governments understanding of the current market place for medical waste removal. 6. Verification your company is registered in VetBiz and is certified SDVOSB or VOSB. This is a mandatory certification requirement if your company is claiming SDVOSB or VOSB status. ______________________________________________________________________________ 7.
