Description
This purpose of this amendment is to add a Question and Answer (Q&A) Section in response to questions received, no additional changes shall occur as a result of this amendment. Questions & Answers: SB1341-16-RQ-0582 1.Q. To assist in this research, the Government requires a 2 ½ axis position and rate table for the testing and calibration of MEMS devices, why 2.5 axes? A.Our test protocol uses a 2.5 axis approach. 2.Q. [Paragraph III.2. f]: The size shall not exceed a 50 inch cube. Question: Is this volume for the test table only? Is there size restriction due to the laboratory room dimensions? What are the reasons for the size restriction to not exceed 50 inch cube? A.This is the size restriction for the test equipment. We have a size restriction because of the space that we plan to put the equipment and safely operate it. 3.Q. [Paragraph III.2. j]: Instrument shall be powered using single phase 115/240 VAC ± 10%, 50-60 Hz, 15A. Question: Can three phase instead of single phase be utilized? A.No. We do not have three phase available at the location that we plan to install the equipment. 4.Q. [Paragraph III]: Delivery. FOB Destination delivery terms are required. Delivery shall be completed within four (4) months from the date of an award. The Contractor shall deliver all equipment to NIST, Building 301, Shipping and Receiving, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1640. Question: Is a longer lead time acceptable? A.No. 5.Q. What is meant by "2 ½" axis table? I have never heard this term before. Can you please clarify? A. It means that there are 2 axes of rotation but the third axis can be accessed by rotation of one axis to a set position and rotating the other in order to perform the calibration of a 3 axis inertial measurement unit.
