Description
The USDA, ARS, Western Regional Research Center, Albany, California has a requirement for a precision laboratory roller mill for milling small-scale production of wheat flours for compositional analyses and functional testing using protocols standardized by the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC) of wheat productions test flours (AACC Standard Method #26-50). The mill must provide continuous and automatic preparation of production test flours with capacity of at least 500 grams/5 min to yield flours that are almost equal to commercially produced flours in ash content, yield, and baking quality; provide settings with a continuous, high throughput reel sifter that automatically separates ground product into coarse flour and by-product, which includes bran and large endosperm particles. The mill must provide a closed grinding process with extremely small roll diameters and short grinding zone to ensure maximum separation of the endosperm from the exosperm. Equivalent roll specs and roll gaps for maximum separation of the endosperm from other grain components: Roll specs (Corrugation, flutes/cm)  Roll 1: 5  Roll 2: 10  Roll 3: 16 Roll 4: 18Roll gaps (mm)  Between 1&2: fixed  Between 2&3: 0.04  Between 3&4: 0.03 Reel sifter: 236 microns Provide user manuals, warranties and shipping/freight fees. This solicitation incorporates the following commercial FAR clauses by reference 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5.
