- SOURCES SOUGHT 1. Seeking SDVOSB or VOSB for the following 2.: VASDHS HD Bed Lift Wheelchairs Storage Systems 3. Background The VASDHS at 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego CA, CA 92161 is part of the Desert Pacific Healthcare Network (VISN 22), and is one of the most diversified tertiary health care providers in the VA. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient services, with state-of-the art technology as well as education and research. 4. Scope The scope for the work includes installation of eight (08) bed storage units and the installation of 06 "Tiltnstore" Wheelchair storage system at the VASDHS La Jolla facility. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, material, and equipment to conduct installation of the eight (08) high bed lift storage units at the VASDHS La Jolla facility. Bed storage system unit with a capacity of 03 units and the wheelchairs storage system shall not interfere with the locations defined egress routes, shall not interfere with the location egress route. Contractor shall ensure installation for both storage systems is seismically sound as per manufacturer specifications and/or any other regulations for such systems. 5. Specific Tasks 1.Contractor shall install eight (08) units, 900 lb. capacity, with 3-bed capacity for each unit in designated locations in Bldg. 1 room B217 2.Contractor shall install six (06) wheelchairs storage system units at designated locations 3.Contractor shall install, commission and ensure that each installed unit operates as per manufacturer specifications to include power requirements, motor operation speed, 4.Contractor shall conduct on-site visit to ensure designated locations satisfies the size and power requirements for the equipment; 5.Contractor shall ensure power stations and operation requirements are per manufacturer specifications. Electrical requirement as specified: 220V, 15 amp dedicated circuit for each of the Bed Storage unit. 6.Contractor shall install loading ramps for each of the units 7.Contractor shall ensure each unit is seismically braced in its final location as per manufacturer specifications. 8.Contractor shall install side panels for safety purpose at open-ends of the units on the bed storage system 9.Contractor shall provide training to VA users on equipment users, and daily routine maintenance for proper upkeep of each of the units. 10.Contractor shall ensure units final locations does not interfere with the location established egress route. 5. Deliverables Contractor shall provide: a.Reports detailing number of units installed with serial numbers identifying each unit; b.CAD blocks and drawing tools for the installed units; c.Technical manuals associated with each unit; d.Training record conducted for VA users. 6. Performance Monitoring VASDHS project COR be monitoring Contractor work based on the following criteria but not limited to: a.Contractor training certification and knowledge of equipment and installation procedures b.Contractor experience in performing required work 7.Other Pertinent Information or Special Considerations Work will be conducted in areas identified as containing asbestos materials. Contractor shall therefore comply with the public laws and statues including all changes and amendments of Federal, State, and local environmental statutes and regulations governing Asbestos containing materials-ACM, to include: o29 CFR 1926.1101 Asbestos Regulations for the Construction Industry. o29 CFR 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard SDHS La Jolla facility oEPA, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) protocols. oGuidance for Controlling Asbestos-Containing Materials in Buildings, USEPA 560/5-85-024. 8.Inspection and Acceptance Criteria The COR can perform inspection of the work performed without the presence of the contractor and determine whether the work performs is within standards expressed within this scope of the work. VA reserve the right to use third party expertise to verify the proper installation of the units 9.
